ID3 – Professional Foundations: Collaborating, Researching and Networking

This course explored ways to improve your knowledge as an instructional designer. Topics covered included research methods and resources as well as tools to help facilitate collaboration and networking, such as communities of practice. The course also provided an in-depth review of various learning theories and instructional design models. The culminating project for the course was to choose a topic in the field of instructional design to research and then to create a presentation showcasing your research on that topic.

The topic I chose for my research presentation was gamification. I ended up re-purposing that presentation as part of my learning theories portfolio for my ID and Technology MicroMasters. The relevant section from my portfolio with my gamification research can be found here.
