Hundreds of patients were quarantined at a hospital with a mysterious virus. Unfortunately, due to a quarantine breach, the disease has spread into mainstream society and is causing thousands of deaths per day. You are an agent on a hazmat team that must go into the now abandoned hospital and retrieve blood samples to be analyzed for a cure. Will you be able to help save mankind? Will you even survive?

Hospital Escape was an interactive escape room experience that involved physical computing puzzles, wearable technology, and a custom web app. Hospital Escape was designed for five players per experience.

The puzzles in the escape room mainly used Particle Photons. The custom web app was built using HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and Firebase. It also featured a basic web server made with Node.js, ParticleJS, and the Firebase Admin SDK. You can see photos and videos from my project, as well as all of my code and other assets, here.

This was my team’s project from the 2017 Global Game Jam. I did the programming for this game using Unity and C#. The game was developed to work with Google Cardboard on Android phones using Unity Daydream Preview and the Google VR SDK for Unity. One special feature that I was able to implement was gaze-based selection where users can select objects by looking at them. This was a collaborative project with my colleagues Kathleen Fox and Devon Tam. I developed the Scotch Plains Music Center’s website using HTML/CSS and Bootstrap. I had to transfer their content over from an old pre-existing site and chose a simple one-page scrolling design for the new site. I also set them up with email marketing using MailChimp. You can see the site at http://spmusic.com/.

The Spook House is a collection of 10 mini-games that was inspired by WarioWare and the Dumb Ways to Die mobile games.  I developed the “Do Not Touch Game”, “Do Not Move Game”, “Touch and Hold Game”, and “Destroy Ghost Game”. I also programmed start and transition screens as well as the lives and progress monitoring systems. The game was developed with Unity and C# and is compatible with Android and iOS. This was a collaborative project with my colleagues Kathleen Fox, Cameron Leonard, Claire Heppenstall, and Yuki Takahashi.

   I created the Hungry Hippos using an Arduino Mega, push buttons, and servos. The hippo heads, racks, and pinions were all 3D printed. I found the 3D files for the rack and pinion on GrabCAD and modified them to fit the dimensions of my project. I designed the hippo heads myself using PTC Creo Parametric.
